I advanced unsleeping in England with the NHS – the National Health Service. Everyone in the UK can get medical care on the NHS and, for the most part, its at no cost. Funded mostly by taxes, the NHS has been in locality since 1948 and 92% of Brits use it for their primary healthcare. The national health care program in the UK essays very well, and Brits now actually pay less taxes than Americans do, so Im comprehensively bemused each time I hear the outrage of a couple of Americans when it comes to Obamas national health care plan. America is the only developed country in the world that doesnt have a national health care system and Americans pay more for health care than any other nationality in the world. Anyone with any iota of common sense, therefore, would say its probably in Americas best concerns to elapse Obamas health care plan – save for Americans just arent budging. Why?

As I mentioned, I grew up in the UK where health care is free and presciptions are a flat (very youthful!) fee. Irregardless of what medication you need, the reward of the prescription is the same. The cost of birth control pills the same as cancer treatments, AIDS drugs or drugs for diabetes or heart disease. No theme whats wrong with your health, it wont cost you an arm and a leg to fix it, and youll never go bankrupt fancy health care costs in the UK. In the US, on the other hand, thousands of workers a every year go bankrupt from outrageous costs of medical care and some loses cars, houses, and everything else they own too. Just to pay off the greedy hospitals, insurance companies and drug companies that are currently controlling Americas health care system.

Yet, Americans are terrified of a national health care system because, being a pretty gullible nationality, they believe the panic stories the bogey man is turning (the bogey man being namely, any Republican that can get up and voice an opinion). Republicans are talking about taxes being raised under Obamas new health care plan (they wont be!), theyre talking about people not being able to see their own doctor (this wont happen) and theyre talking about a system that will control Americans to such an extent they wont get the health care they need (and this isnt possible to happen either).

As a Brit first and an American second, I was brought up in a country where we question the government. A lot of Americans believe the party they support so, if theyre Republican, damned straight theyre going to believe the Republican party whos telling them Obamas health care plan wont work. Me? I question not only the Republican Party but their ethics, as many Republican senators and representatives are in the pockets of the insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies so, of course theyre going to tell you Obamas national health care system will be painful for you. Because if Americans support Obamas national health care bill then these same chubbiness cat Republicans will lose the money that gets put in their pockets by the medical lobby.

I now live in Thailand, a country that just recently moved up from third world to second world status and even we have a national health care system. Every person in Thailand is covered, so that any visit to a doctor or any treatment costs 30 baht (just less than $1). If you required a higher level of treatment than at a normal Thai government hospital, you can supplement it with health insurance or at a private hospital. Private hospital treatment in Thailand however is also less than a tenth of the price of regular hospital treatment in the US yet Thais pay far less a percentage of their salaries in taxes than Americans do. So, if Thailand can offer such an excellent medical care system to its citizens without increasing taxes, it stands to reason so can America. Its also now why so many Americans come to Thailand every year for their health care needs – its cheap, the treatment is even better than in the US, and Bangkok private hospitals are now rated as some of the best in the world.

Lastly, Americans bust a gut when they think they might have to pay higher taxes for Obamas health care plan, but dont seem to care that a billion dollars of their taxes are going to Iraq – every day. Thats because former-President and current-scam-artist George Bush did such a number on the heads of Americans, truly having them believe that America would be overrun with terrorists if America didnt go into Iraq and deal with it.

Fast forward eight time and America is now paying the price for Bushs little scam. Americas think they cant afford Obamas national health care system because theyre paying out the nose for Bushs Iraq scam. If it was me, I know which one I would opt for. A national health care system that would cover everyone and brand my health care needs easier to get and to afford. Not a fake war in Iraq that has destroyed Americas image around the world and meant that you, your kids and your grandkids will still be paying for this war years after America has vanished Iraq in shambles.

America needs Obamas national health care plan, but until Americans wake up and realize how theyre being scammed by the Republicans, the health care companies, the insurance companies, the drug companies and George Bushs foray into Iraq, they probably wont get it.

Me? Im delighted I live in Thailand.

Every teenager in America looks forward to the day when they can take a ride to the department of motor vehicles with a parent to take the drivers exam; however, not all parents emotions equal that of the teenager. One pretext is the fear of letting go of a object of their beloveds childhood. A drivers license means more freedom to go further away from home. The second reason Some parents fear or rather dread this day is the cost of car insurance. Dread of car insurance costs is not solely among new drivers although it does cause more hard times due to the fact teenage drivers tend to have higher premiums than adults with driving experience; however, there are ways to reduce the cost of car insurance if one removes age to do a bit of homework, research, and implement defined enables.

The best way to gain access to the lowest rates is to shop around. Do so within your community, county, and state as well as visit cyberspace. Check for saving options when combining car insurance with life insurance, homeowners insurance, health insurance, and even insurance for jewelry or other valuables. Most companies present significant rate reductions when customers carry more than one policy with a company. The important thing is to shop around to acquire the best possible rate versus remaining with the same company year after year without checking for alternative options.

Insurance for teenage or inexperienced drivers will be higher but there is a way around this ordeal too. Most parents decide to add the children to the parents policy. This works out best if the family has only two cars thus leaving the teenager as a secondary driver but without a specific vehicle of his or her own. This can save a few hundred dollars each time the insurance renews until the teenager earns enough life of experience to lower their insurance to affordable levels. It is important to take into consideration the costs of comprehensive and collision insurance if carried on the parents vehicles. Check into insurance companies that offer a child his or her own policy and compare the two. Again, ask if there is the chance of a lower cost if the childs private insurance is through the company where the parents purchase insurance.

Some insurance companies offer discounts based on grades. If teenagers still in school keep high marks on report cards and/or style the honor streak or principals diary, some companies will offer discounts as long as the company receives a copy of the report card at every grading period to keep the lower rate intact.

Stay away from sports cars for both adults and teenage drivers. These types of cars generally guarantee higher insurance premiums. Check your local state top ten list of stolen cars. Most insurance companies charge more for these cars due to the high wager of theft. The top ten list is available on most department of motor vehicle websites. If not, contact your local DMV to find out which cars are on the top ten list and then compare it with insurance companies. At this writing, many Honda model cars are on the top ten. In addition, many teenagers have a tendency to modify these types of cars for street racing. It helps to steer away from adding the undercarriage lights on cars as it gives local statute enforcement the opportunity to pull the car over in an attempt to find something to write a ticket for the driver. If your teenager must have undercarriage lights, check with local law enforcement or the department of motor vehicles for specific color options, some are illegal to use.

Lower premiums are possible with higher deductibles. If possible, set aside wealth in a savings account to allow for a higher deductible in order to obtain a lower premium. Ask your carrier if proof of the savings account is necessary to obtain the lower premium amount.

Installation of an anti-theft system and alarm system can lower insurance premiums. Parking in lighted or secure parking decks reduces premiums as well. Parking in a driveway versus parking on a side street can lower premium costs as well. Auto-locking mechanisms found on many newer cars can help with savings as well.

Walk through all comprehension and collision policies in order to decide what is in point of fact necessary or not. Removal of insurance that one does not need can reduce costs. If possible, add an additional option above the standard uninsured motorist claims since most standard policies do not cover damages from hit-and-run disasters. This is a lesson one in this writers family learned the hard way several years ago.

If possible, pay insurance annually or at the least biannually. This saves interest costs and insurance fees for monthly payments and reduces the overall cost of having insurance.

Reduce mileage as a large amount of as possible. Higher mileage means higher insurance. Retired or older drivers who drive short distances each day can ask for a recreational driver rate. This can significantly reduce the cost of insurance on the vehicle. For those who commute to work, there is little available other than the options above to lower the cost of insurance other than upgrading to a lower mileage car every couple of years to keep the mileage at a reasonably reduced rate.

While this suggestion is not fair by any means, if a married couple both drive one car, it is always best to have the car insured under the womans name since insurance is generally cheaper for women than for men. Women tend to be slower and more careful drivers whereas men, statistically speaking, tend to drive faster and take more coincidences on the route than women. Be sure to accommodates both drivers still list the primary driver as the woman versus the man.

Online insurance policies are a great way to save money as well. Check around for various quotes online. The savings from using an online company can be as low as 10% when compared to brick and mortar local insurance companies.

A great way to reduce insurance premiums and lower chances of car accidents that will increase insurance rates is for all drivers to take defensive driving classes. Bring the certification from the course with you or make a scan to send to an online insurance company when requesting a quote. Defensive driving makes better drivers and tends to reduce the number of accidents each year.

Should one receive a ticket while driving, be sure to hire an attorney to handle the ticket. It is more likely an attorney can dismiss the ticket fully or at the least get a prayer for judgment that will allow the ticket to remain off the drivers record and so keep the insurance rates as low as possible.

Insurance is something nobody can afford to go without at anytime while driving. It saves everyone money in the end regardless if one is the cause of the accident or the one on the undergoing end of the accident. Keep all insurance records updated and keep your insurance awareness with you at all times.

At some point, everyone will pay higher rates for insurance above all when considering inexperienced drivers such as teenagers and those who are new to a realm but there are ways to reduce the rates as much as possible with the advice above. It takes doing a bit of homework, spending some time doing some research, and making additions to your vehicle and possible changes in parking arrangements. In the end, all of this makes up for the time of shopping around and making changes when it saves as much money as possible. The one thing to remember when purchasing car insurance is to make certain you carry enough insurance. Cars in this day and age cost more and come with more additions so when purchasing insurance, always check your policy to make certain that you carry enough insurance to cover an accident. Ask about the cost of an accident when the proverbial car hit is an average cost and model car. Use this as a guide to ensure financial freedom from extra costs after the insurance company settles. Having too little insurance is as inconvenient as paying for too much when considering the long haul, so to speak.

Drive safe, pay attention, and do your research…

How To Choose Health Medical Insurance

With no therapeutic care and other therapeutic benefits that their counterparts enjoy, self-employed and freelancers are out on the lurch. There is no safety net for the autonomous workliveliness, until Sarah Horowitz spear-headed an insurance program cell phoned Freelancers accordance.

Sarah Horowitz may be the reply to non-insureds prayer. A New York-based Freelancers Union fulfills many frustrating workforces tries to acquire affordable insurance, and the Union recently announced its plans to start its own insurance company with the aspiration of offering a cheap system with accepted coverage.

A Cornell University graduate, Sarah Horowitz, is a sorter labor attorney and union organizer. Her goal is to form a union where freelancers with their collective power generate a group purchasing of insurance, funds and advocacy. The spectrum of services accommodates health and dental coverage, disability, life insurance where rates are charged based on member calls for, And many independent contractors are ever so grateful that Horowitz has championed their cause, and make a sensation of providing the insurance.

Thats the Enterprising Idea feature presented by Jim Lehrer on PBS News Hour tonight.

Started in 1995, is a national non-profit organization called Freelancers Union grew out of the Americas growing independent workforce accounting for about 30% of the entire workforce.

The insurance is a better option than COBRA (an insurance program for continued insurance after permitting employment, but this is somewhat expensive). There are eligibility guidelines to be met, but once youre in, there is no need to keep justifying the eligibility.

American corporations are cost cutting and increase flexibility and the resulting end result is increased independent workforce. According to the Freelancers Union, the workforce includes “the segment of the labor force working outside of normal employment arrangements as independent contractors, temporary workers, contract workers, leased workers, part-time workers, on-call workers, sunlight hours laborers, and the self-employed.”

The FAQ have answers to most questions concerning eligibility and information about the company.

To be eligible for insurance, the applicant must a) be an independent worker, b) be a U.S. resident, c) work in an eligible industry or occupation and d) having track record showing 20 hours worked in the preceding 8 weeks or earned at slightest $10,000 in the last six months.

The eligible industries are limited but used to without difficulty cover one industry when they originally started in 2001. The industries encompassed are: a) Arts, plot & enjoyment, b) Domestic Child Care Giver, c) economic Services, d) Media & Advertising, f) Nonprofit, g) more established Computer User, h) Technology and i) Traditional or Alternative Health Care Provider. Over time, more benefits to cover more industries are added as negotiations continue with insurance carriers. A survey taken giving them suggestions helps them understand the needs of members that may have be able to cover and it also signs you up for the monthly e-newsletter for important notifications.

Not everyone in the independent workforce is eligible to participate in the Freelancers Union presently, however, for those who are eligible, it provides a safety net of insurance and other health insurance products that they under no circumstances skillful. Freelancers Union continues to work to increase more eligible industries.

President Obama hopes to provide insurance opportunities for millions of Americans who are not covered and this company could be the wheel to begin the exploration, as an alternative of trying to reinvent the wheel from scratch.
